Why subscribe to my blog?

A note to readers:

As I am sure you are aware, I am trying to develop a reader base with the hopes that I can eventually fund my travel bug through my writing. To that end, it is helpful if you actually “subscribe”…It will take a little effort from you the first time, as the point of subscribing is so they can track my blog statistics to see whether I will be worthy of investing in from an advertising, sponsorship, or other monetization perspective.

Once you have subscribed, which will entail you giving your email address, you will receive emails from WordPress each time I post. WordPress is the hosting platform for my blog. If you then use that email from them to access my blog, rather than looking up my blog in a search engine or in a browser, I will get “credit” that my subscribers are actually viewing the blog. It is a bit more convoluted than that, but close enough.

In addition, if you actually “like” what I wrote, hit the “Like” button. On a computer screen, the like button is obvious. On a tablet or on a phone, you need to hit the “Comment” button before the “Like” button will appear. The number of “likes” will also add to my credibility as a writer.

“Comments” are like gold as they show the WordPress folks that the subscribers are actually engaged with the writing. Don’t feel obligated to comment, but even if it is a few words, that makes a difference in my statistics.

Digital marketing is a whole new game for me. At the moment I am just targeting my previous Wendy’s Platter market as I am timid to get in too deep while I am so enthralled with my travels. I hope this clarifies things about the blog!
